Long-time Amarillo College Board member Anette Carlisle announced her resignation from the Amarillo College Board of Regents this week in the wake of allegations that she recently drove without being heavily intoxicated.
“I have let down my constituents, and for that I apologize,” said Carlisle. “I should be setting an example for our students to follow, so they know college is a time to let loose and make mistakes.”
“Being a danger to fellow drivers on the road is a responsibility this board takes very seriously,” said board member John Betancourt “I was shocked and appalled to hear that Carlisle has refused this duty.” Betancourt is hoping to take his drunk driving skills to Austin as the Democratic Party nominee for State Senate District 31.
